Invisalign in Aurora, CO
Are you unhappy with the placement of your teeth? Are you hiding your smile behind your hand because of teeth that are crooked, uneven, or gapped? Or are you avoiding smiling altogether because you are not happy with the way you look?
Maybe you have thought about braces. If you’re like many people, you might have dismissed the idea of having a mouth full of metal wires and brackets. For many people, there is a time factor that is unappealing as well. Traditional braces can take a number of years.
With modern orthodontics, however, you might be able to get the straight teeth you’ve always dreamed of—without the wires, metal, and brackets. Invisalign invisible braces are not only practically invisible so most people won’t even realize you are wearing them, but they are removable, which offers a host of other advantages.
At the Uptown Comprehensive Dentistry and Orthodontics, Dr. John Chen can answer all your questions about Invisalign clear aligners and help you decide whether they should be a part of your smile transformation.
Are You a Good Candidate for Invisalign?
If you have always been self-conscious about your smile because you have large gaps between your teeth, crooked teeth, or uneven teeth, Invisalign might be right for you. Patients who have good oral health with no signs of gum disease are perfect candidates for this innovative teeth straightening system. As long as you commit to taking care of your teeth and gums with regular brushing and flossing throughout treatment, you can enjoy the full benefits of Invisalign for many years to come!
How Does Invisalign Work?
Once we determine that you are a good candidate for Invisalign, you will see Dr. Chen and have custom impressions made of your mouth. In addition, photographs and x-rays will be taken as needed to determine your course of treatment.
After the information- and data-gathering has been completed, Invisalign will create a custom set of aligners just for you. These will fit tightly over your teeth to gently reposition your teeth. It is essential that these aligners be worn for at least 22 hours each day.
Every couple of weeks, you will get new aligners and the process will continue until your teeth are straightened. Not only do Invisalign invisible braces look discreet, but the entire process often takes less time than traditional braces.
What Are the Advantages to Invisalign?
Apart from the obvious benefit that these braces are practically invisible, there are a number of other advantages to Invisalign.
Because they are removed for eating, you will have no restrictions on foods like you would with traditional braces. You can also clean your teeth thoroughly because you can floss and brush like normal.
If you have an important event coming up, you can remove the aligners for a few hours. As long as you commit to wearing them for the allotted time each day, your treatment will continue.
Another advantage is that you’ll be able to see your teeth become straighter during your treatment because you’ll be able to see your teeth clearly!
